ARTIST STATEMENT:
I am in love with color and in love with the city I grew up in. I believe “when one door is close another door will open (Bob Marley).” Born in the infamous neighborhood of Jhenidah in Bangladesh, I grew up in a neighborhood not known for supporting artistic endeavors. But with the support of my family, I would soon realize my dream. I have spent most of my life in that congested city Jhenidah & Dhaka. The old buildings, the narrow labyrinth lanes, the texture of the aging walls, the poor people and the colors of structures always pull me back there. I expose mostly my pain and joy through out the canvass and on my design field. On canvass, I try to translate my dreams, my feelings of love, inner torments, hungers, struggles, pain and pleasure, issues of socio-political events, and inter-personal conflicts, even sensuality.

My styles have been basically semi - abstract with an element of surrealism added in occasional cases. Sometimes I am a passionate as a maker of luxuriously colored harmonious images and more conceptual and contemporary painter who emphasized from over color. Every single painting that I have made has a significant expression. Abstract Expressionism emphasized the depiction of emotions rather than objects. Most painters of the movement favored large canvasses, dramatic colors, and loose brushwork. I would like to introduce myself as an abstract painter.

After coming to New York I was moved by the work of Jackson Pollock, de Kooning, Hans Hoffman, Kandinsky, Marc Chagall, Andy Warhol and their work inspired me a lot to choose my style. I like the line, color, action, freedom, power strength, excitement, and emotion.

Some reason, I don\'t know why my pain leads me to most of my important work in which my heart and soul work together. I live with seven color and sleep behind my Paintings.
