When it comes to painting or drawing people it is essential to challenge standards. By building an emphasis on contrast as well as using strong lines, multiple layers, and unique colors I am able to provide a different feel with each piece.
Abstracts
Abstraction is the perfect avenue to reach a large audience. I believe that abstraction should be from the heart and allow viewers to choose how to interpret each and every piece. With that each detail can hold more or less significance and connect in different ways with each viewer.
Stills of Life
Everyday items often play a large role in our lives. When dealing with a still life I try to highlight the many aspects of life that often go unnoticed.
The Barn Series
The Iowa farm is on the fast track to being a thing of the past; barns that once were present on every family farm are becoming harder to find. During the last year I have created this series of barns to share with others the appreciation that I have held for much of my life.
Everyday Items Series
This series combines product packaging with written text as well as paint and ink. Each work stresses something relating to the package it includes or a similar product used in this series.
